In Krasnoselkup, the Pripolyarnaya agricultural firm will grow tomatoes for the first time this year.
The vegetable farm successfully grows various crops, especially cabbage, onions, herbs and cucumbers. Now 5,000 seedlings of cucumbers of various romantic names are growing in the greenhouse – “Cupid”, “Adam” and others. At the beginning of summer, the seedlings will be transferred to the open ground, and the first fruits are expected at the end of August, the press service of the administration of the Krasnoselkup region reported.
Farmers say that the seeds on the farm germinate very quickly due to good lighting and a favorable atmosphere. So, cucumber seedlings “hatched” during the day.
This year, the agricultural firm also planted various greens – cilantro, spinach, basil, as well as new vegetables for the enterprise – eggplant and red cabbage as an experiment, Sever-Press news agency reported.
