As of July 31, Georgia exported 16.7 thousand tons of peaches and nectarines worth $18.6 million, the press service of the country’s Ministry of Agriculture reports.
Compared to the same period last year, the volume of exports of peaches and nectarines decreased by 5.4 thousand tons (24%), and the value – by $1.3 million (6%).
According to the agency, the decline in exports is due to the late start of the harvest process for two weeks due to bad weather.
A working group has been set up in the Ministry of Agriculture, which is actively working to collect and systematize information, establish links between farmers and sellers of peaches and nectarines.

This year, more than 40 refrigeration facilities are involved in the process of harvesting.
