In a significant stride toward revitalizing agricultural landscapes, the administrations of nine municipal entities in Zabaykalsky have undertaken cadastral work on agricultural lands. This effort aims to formalize and transfer these lands to agrarians, contributing to the national goal of bringing underutilized plots back into agricultural circulation. Marina Kuznetsova, the Deputy Minister of Agriculture for the region, highlighted the success of a federal program that financially supports the process of converting disused shares into municipal property for subsequent allocation to agricultural producers.
Cadastral Endeavors and Federal Support
Zabaykalsky witnessed an impressive 17,300 hectares undergoing cadastral procedures this year, marking the second year of the operation of the government support direction. The program’s primary objectives include reintegrating unused lands into circulation and preserving reclaimed soils for agricultural use. In recognition of the efforts made by nine municipal districts and regions in registering unclaimed agricultural lands, a portion of the incurred costs will be compensated from the federal budget, as explained by the Deputy Head of the Regional Ministry of Agriculture.
The highest volume of cadastral work occurred in the Priargunsky district, with over 6,700 hectares processed. Uletovsky district successfully incorporated 5,500 hectares into municipal ownership, while Sretensky district registered 2,000 hectares for future agricultural use.
Regional Impact and Presidential Perspective
Cadastral activities extended to other areas, including Mogoytuysky, Karemsky, Petrovsk-Zabaykalsky, Shilkinsky, Borzinsky districts, and Nercinsky-Zavodsky district. This comprehensive approach reflects a commitment to optimizing land utilization across various regions.
President Vladimir Putin emphasized the need to transfer inefficiently used lands to alternative owners, including municipalities. He stated, “If the land is not productive, let’s transfer it to other owners, including municipalities. They are closer to the people and perfectly capable of deciding where to build houses, plant potatoes, or use it for the benefit of the people and the country.”
Cultivating Progress and Sustainable Agriculture
The cadastral efforts in Zabaykalsky demonstrate a concerted push toward sustainable land management and agricultural development. As the region embraces untapped hectares, it sets a precedent for effective land use strategies. President Putin’s endorsement of transferring unused lands aligns with the broader goal of optimizing resources for the benefit of both local communities and the nation.
