Victoria and Alexander Kolmykov from the village of Borisovka last fall became the owners of the Agrostartup grant, provided as part of the national project Small and Medium Enterprises and Support for Individual Entrepreneurial Initiatives. IP Kolmykova is engaged in the cultivation of vegetables, their products are well known to local residents.
“My father Grigory Maksimovich started growing seedlings, vegetables and flowers back in the 80s. We live in the parental farmstead and the greenhouse facility, created by the hands of my father, has passed into our work. Our greenhouses no longer met modern requirements, and we decided to modernize our farm, we decided to participate in the competition for a grant,” said Alexander Kolmykov.
The project “Modernization of greenhouse facilities for growing organic vegetables” entered the top twenty in the region. For its implementation, farmers received three million rubles. The area under the greenhouses is 1.5 thousand square meters. Since last November, the Kolmykovs have built a new modern greenhouse and planted 800 bushes of tomatoes of two varieties “Rally” and “Alizi” there.
“300 tomato bushes were planted in the ground, cucumbers are growing. In the last days of July, we will plant new ones to replace the fruit-bearing tomato bushes. Until the end of November, we will delight our customers with delicious tomatoes. Cucumbers will also be planted for the second time by August. At the beginning of July, a ton of vegetables had already been sold. We plan to put the second greenhouse into operation this autumn,” Alexander shared.
After receiving a grant during the period of restructuring of the entire greenhouse economy, two jobs were created. High-quality, organic vegetables grown indoors on Belgorod land are rated by buyers at five points.
Recall that the importance of supporting farmers has been repeatedly noted by the Governor of the Belgorod Region Vyacheslav Gladkov.
“It seems to me that it is necessary to increase the amount of funding, the amount of support, because farming is, of course, the true taste of products, a tradition that is in great demand in our shops and markets. We will try to increase the volume of state support in the near future,” the head of the region emphasized.
