In Crimea, the sowing of sugar beet has begun. According to the Ministry of Agriculture of the region, a total of 400 hectares of agricultural land will be given to this crop in the Republic.
At the moment, the first enterprise is sowing its areas with seeds of the hybrid variety “Tsunami”.
“The sown soil is already being irrigated with a circular sprinkler machine, made in Russia. Water for irrigation is provided free of charge from the North Crimean Canal,” the release of the relevant ministry says.
In Crimea, enterprises of the Dzhankoy, Soviet, Krasnogvardeysky and Krasnoperekopsky districts of Crimea are engaged in the cultivation of sugar beet seeds.
Earlier, RIA Novosti Crimea reported that production would be stopped due to high prices for commercial gas.
