Such videos are painful to watch. Apple trees strewn with fruits are cut down at the root.
“A farmer from the north of Moldova is cutting down his apple orchard. The Prime Rouge variety. The garden is 10 years old. The producer has nowhere to sell the harvest, and it is already unprofitable to take apples for juice. Sad…” – Ilian Casu, who posted the video, wrote on his Facebook page.
Apparently, the farmer lost his nerves – he worked all year, and after receiving a rich harvest of apples, he was left with nothing.
Previously, most of the harvest was sold to Russia. But due to the anti-Russian sentiments of the authorities, Moldova lost this market. The government does not provide assistance to farmers. The authorities have not found alternative sales markets.
And there is no point in spending money on harvesting, so that, as many farmers did last year, they throw everything on the sidelines.
