The areas of vine plantations in the republic over the past ten years have remained approximately at the same level – over a thousand hectares. At the same time, vineyards are being renewed, including by uprooting out-of-service plantations and laying young seedlings in these areas.
Vineyards are mainly cultivated by agricultural organizations and peasant (farm) enterprises.
According to the North Caucasus Statistics, at the beginning of last year, there were 522 hectares of vineyards in agricultural organizations of the KBR, 500 hectares in farms, and the rest, about 40 hectares, in personal subsidiary plots of the population.
Vineyards in fruiting age account for almost 99% of the total vineyard area. Gross grape harvest annually averages 20 thousand tons.
In Kabardino-Balkaria, mainly technical grape varieties are cultivated, which are used to make wine and wine materials. The harvested crop is partially processed by local enterprises, the rest is sent outside the region.
This year, the planting of vineyards in vineyards will continue. Currently, interested agricultural producers are working on the preparation of investment projects for laying vineyards using super-intensive technology.
