The end consumer will also benefit from this, because the shelf life and volume of products will increase, which will favorably affect prices, and the retailer, since the share of losses of goods during its storage will decrease. In total, the percentage of utilization of agricultural products will decrease by a third.
Analysts have estimated that over 50% of the products disposed of by retail chains are just fruits and vegetables, 10% are potatoes.
