A total of 20,500 tons of fruits and vegetables were exported from China to Mongolia through the Eren Hot checkpoint (Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, North China) during the first five months of 2022, according to Eren Hot Customs.
The total value of fruit and vegetable exports to Mongolia through the Eren Hot checkpoint was reported to have exceeded 41.36 million yuan (about $6.18 million) during the reporting period.
“Demand for fruits and vegetables from Mongolia increased in May this year. Customs has implemented an appointment clearance system and adjusts opening hours to avoid operations in hot weather affecting the freshness of fruits and vegetables,” said Zhang Yucheng, director of a local company. engaged in the export of fruits and vegetables.
Customs has taken a series of measures to ensure fast, smooth and orderly customs clearance of fresh produce, said Wang Jiugang, spokesman for the above-mentioned customs office.
Since the establishment in 2018 of the “green corridor” for agricultural products between China and Mongolia, a rich variety of fruits and vegetables have appeared on the tables of the people of Mongolia.
Thanks to this “green corridor”, fresh fruits and vegetables pass through customs as quickly as possible.
More than 80 percent of fresh fruits and vegetables in the Mongolian market come from China through the Eren Hot checkpoint.
