Harvesting of currants, raspberries, cherries began in Tambov farms

Agricultural producers of the Tambov region have begun harvesting currants, raspberries, cherries and other berry crops.
According to the operational information of the regional department of agriculture, gardeners of the Petrovsky district harvest currants. Agrarians of the Umetsky district have started collecting raspberries. Agricultural producers of Zherdevsky, Michurinsky and Petrovsky districts harvest cherries.
To date, the entire crop of garden strawberries has been harvested in the farms of the region. The gross harvest amounted to 127 tons, which is 50 tons more than last year. A good harvest is due to the high yield of garden strawberries – 21 centners / ha (2021 – 14 centners / ha). Experts note that Tambov gardeners are increasingly using modern technologies in the production of berry crops, thereby increasing the yield of berries.
In total, 24% of the harvest of berry crops (70 hectares) has been harvested in the region to date. Gross harvest exceeds 136 tons. This year, gardeners will have to harvest from 286 hectares of berries.
