In the first five months of 2022, Uzbekistan exported 615.6 thousand tons of fruits and vegetables, the State Statistics Committee reports.
The total amount of exports amounted to $335 million.
According to the agency, exports increased by 44 thousand tons compared to the same period last year.
The volume of exports of fruits and vegetables in the first five months:
fruits and berries – 61 thousand tons;
dried fruits and berries – 17.6 thousand tons;
vegetables – 498 thousand tons;
cabbage – 127.8 thousand tons;
tomato – 41.4 thousand tons;
grapes – 10.1 thousand tons;
raisins – 32.8 thousand tons;
peanuts – 9.4 thousand tons;
watermelons and melons – 4.1 thousand tons.
To clarify, since the beginning of the year, the republic has exported goods to Russia worth $346.8 million. The top 5 states purchasing goods in Uzbekistan also include China, Turkey, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan.
At the end of 2021, mutual trade between Uzbekistan and Russia increased by 32.8%, to $7.517 billion. The Russian Federation came out on top among the republic’s major partner countries with a share of 17.9% in the total foreign trade turnover of the republic.
According to the Minister of Economic Development of Russia Maxim Reshetnikov, Russia pays special attention to Uzbekistan in reorienting exports and imports, searching for new suppliers, building new logistics and production chains.
