Farmer Lê Hữu Phan in Da Lat has transformed his 4,000 square meter greenhouse into a hub of unique agricultural products, attracting numerous visitors. His innovative approach to farming rare and exotic crops has made his garden a prime example of successful agri-tourism.

Farmer Lê Hữu Phan, born in 1962 and residing at 50 Ho Xuan Huong, Da Lat (Lam Dong), has made a name for himself by cultivating unique and rare crops that attract visitors from far and wide. With his 4,000 square meter greenhouse, he grows ten different types of vegetables, roots, and fruits imported from countries such as France, the USA, Germany, the Netherlands, and Italy. Known as the “Pumpkin King of Da Lat,” Phan is the first to grow American pumpkins, alongside other unique varieties like tiny German cucumbers, red radishes, black tomatoes, and rainbow chard.

A Haven of Safe and Organic Produce

Phan’s family specializes in producing clean and safe agricultural products, using only organic fertilizers and biological preparations. Visitors to his garden can pick and taste the produce directly, providing a firsthand experience of the freshness and quality of the crops. This approach not only ensures the health and safety of the produce but also enhances the visitor experience, making his garden a popular destination.

A Thriving Agri-Tourism Model

Every day, hundreds of tourists from across the country visit Lê Hữu Phan’s garden to learn from his innovative farming techniques, purchase seeds, and buy fresh produce. This influx of visitors has turned his farm into a successful model of agri-tourism in Da Lat. The garden serves as both an educational site and a marketplace, where people can see the benefits of organic farming and take home some of the rare produce.

Rare and Exotic Crops

  1. American Pumpkins: Phan’s signature crop, known for their size and quality.
  2. Tiny German Cucumbers: These small cucumbers are a unique addition to his collection, loved for their crisp texture and flavor.
  3. Red Radishes: A vibrant and nutritious root vegetable, perfect for salads and garnishes.
