Agricultural organizations of Transbaikalia have completed the planting of vegetables in open ground, said the head of the regional Ministry of Agriculture Denis Bochkarev.
“The sown area of ​​vegetables this year amounted to 132 hectares, which exceeds the planned value by 15%. The leader in field work is the Chita region, whose farmers planted vegetables on an area of ​​103 hectares. The main crops are cabbage, beets, carrots,” the minister said.
In addition, the farms of the region are collecting greenhouse vegetables, which are planted on an area of ​​19 hectares. Since the beginning of the year, 221 tons of cucumbers have been produced in the greenhouse complexes of Transbaikalia. One of these days, agricultural producers will start harvesting tomatoes.
Earlier it was reported that seasonal field work on planting potatoes in the region was carried out on an area of ​​776 hectares, which is 17% higher than last year’s level.
